Marine Harvest Scotland is now Mowi

The company’s shares will be quoted on Oslo Børs with the new name and the new ticker “MOWI”.
“Mowi is an inspirational name that recalls our pioneering spirit that has developed over the past 50 years,” says Alf-Helge Aarskog, CEO of Mowi.
“Since the first salmon was farmed in 1964, we have grown into a global fully integrated company, including breeding, feed, farming, processing and sales. Throughout the past 50 years, we have always remained true to our core value – the care we have for our people, our fish, our customers and the environment.”
The company will soon launch new MOWI branded products into selected markets. The branded product line – soon to be announced – will provide customers added value in taste, convenience, nutrition and traceability.
Aarskog states: “I am really excited that we are now taking the company to the next level. Through implementing our MOWI branding strategy, we will communicate our integrated value-chain from feed to the consumer’s plate.”
Mowi’s (Scotland Limited) business operations have now begun the process of rebranding facilities and vehicles about the Highlands and Islands.
Mowi is the largest salmon farming company in Scotland, with over 1250 employees providing fresh salmon for main markets in the UK, France, USA, Poland and China. The company has three hatcheries, five freshwater loch sites and 49 sea farms, situated in the Western Isles, Skye, Argyll, Wester Ross and Lochaber.
