Many of our farms are in remote and rural communities across the Scottish Highlands. Often the main employer in the area, our staff are also integral to the community, volunteering as part of the coastguard, mountain rescue and fire services.
Wherever we can, we strive not only to support the local community but also to improve it, either by donating time, money, equipment or, of course, salmon.
We do this in a variety of ways from beach cleans to buying outdoor clothing and play equipment for nurseries to coming along with a fully stocked fridge and chefs in the Mowi Salmon Wagon.
Our longest standing commitment to the community is our continued support for shinty which is a cornerstone of many of the communities in which Mowi Scotland operates and which we are proud to have supported for almost 40 years.
We welcome requests that direct our community investment to conservation initiatives, activities for children and youth, sports and wellness, and poverty relief in the communities where Mowi Scotland operates.
Sorry, but we don’t sponsor individuals. We won’t fund travel or hotel costs, or operating costs that without would render your organisation unsustainable. One more thing we won’t do is provide input or direction to an organisation or event that has received our support.
We receive more requests each year than it is possible to approve.
We will review submissions on or around the 15th of each month, so requests must be provided well in advance. Our minimum lead time is one month for in-kind donations (salmon, equipment, etc), and three months for cash funding – allowing Mowi time to leverage and communicate the investment to our employees and the community. If you request a major donation (>£1000) and it is successful, it may be deferred to the next calendar year based on budget restrictions.
If you do not hear back from us within 30 days, please consider your application declined for the calendar year.
