The Salmon Wagon hits the road again!

Scottish charities across the Highlands are set to benefit when Mowi’s Salmon Wagon hits the road again for a summer-long tour of events kicking off next month.

Ten great causes will benefit from having the Salmon Wagon, which arrives fully stocked and with our talented chef, at their event to sell delicious salmon burgers and salmon noodle salads. The charity/organisation behind the event gets to keep 100% of the sales – a significant boost for charities that have been largely unable to host any events since the summer of 2019.

Those set to benefit from the Salmon Wagon include The Kentallen & Duror Community Centre, Mallaig Pool and Leisure Centre, EATS Rosyth, Lochgilphead High School, local charities and schools in Invergarry, North Uist Agricultural Society, Lochs Agricultural Society, Sunart & District Agricultural Society, RNLI and The Camanachd Association.

Speaking about the summer ahead, Jayne MacKay, Community Engagement Officer at Mowi Scotland, said: “We were set to launch the Salmon Wagon in March 2020 just when the pandemic took hold in Scotland so had to cancel all that year’s – and subsequent – events. It’s been a frustrating two years, but we are delighted to finally see the striking Mowi Salmon Wagon hit the road.

“I think after what has been an extremely tough time for the country – not to mention the cancellation of countless events that have traditionally raised vital funds for communities – it will be great to get out to these gatherings and show our support for charities across Scotland.”

Thank you to everyone who applied to have the Mowi Salmon Wagon at an event.
