Mowi sponsors Cash for Kids Sports Challenge
Mowi Consumer Products UK (CPUK) is delighted to be supporting the Cash for Kids Sports Challenge as funding partner. Cash for Kids is a grant-giving charity helping the children that need it most across the UK, and the Sports Challenge initiative, inspired by the Commonwealth Games, is designed to get more young people into sport. The challenge will be supported by trailers on Forth Radio, which reaches a quarter of the population living in Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk.
Cash for Kids and Mowi are looking for grassroots community sports groups from across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk to take part in the unique fundraising competition.
The Sports Challenge is aimed at supporting children and young people who find it difficult to get into sport, either through disadvantage or disability, and entries will be judged on how the group can make a difference to children in their community.
Groups will have from 16th September until 10th October to fundraise as much as possible, supported by Cash for Kids which provides a fundraising pack and advice on how to get the most out of their fundraising. Then, each club keeps every penny raised to buy new kit or equipment or support children with disabilities and/or additional needs, as well as the chance to win additional funding from the Cash for Kids and Mowi prize pot.
Thanks to Mowi’s funding, Cash for Kids can offer a prize pot of £10,000 enabling a first prize of £5,000, a second prize of £2,500, a third prize of £1,500, and two additional awards of £500.
Speaking about the Sports Challenge and partnership with Cash for Kids, Gary Paterson, Head of Operations, Rosyth, Mowi CPUK, said: “We are delighted to be the official funding partner of the first ever Sports Challenge with Radio Forth’s Cash for Kids. This initiative is a very worthy cause and will support local children who currently face barriers to accessing sports clubs and encourage them to stay active and healthy.”
