Oceans of opportunities at Mowi
As we mark Scottish Apprenticeship Week this month, we are showcasing some of our staff who have progressed their careers here at Mowi.
Congratulations to Gregor Davidson, Craig MacLauchlan, Craig MacDonald (pictured above), Andrew Gilchrist and John MacKinnon, our latest cohort of employees who have recently passed their SVQ in Aquaculture.

Many of our staff have benefitted from completing Scottish Vocational Qualifications, which allow them to take their learnings from the job and enhance their skills with a deeper understanding of the sector, the marine environment and fish health and welfare. SVQs can often be a stepping stone to career progression at Mowi, as demonstrated by some recent promotions we are celebrating.
Congratulations to Sean Anderson, who has been promoted from Regional Manager to Production Director; Don MacLeod, who has been promoted from Area Manager for Lewis and Harris to Regional Manager; Connie Pattillo, who has been promoted from Area Manager for Uist and Barra to Area Manager for the Western Isles; and Cameron Jones, who has been promoted from Farm Manager at Ardintoul and Duich to Area Manager for Skye.
Speaking about the promotions, Ben Hadfield, COO Farming Scotland and Ireland, said: “I would like to extend my congratulations to Sean, Don, Connie and Cameron. Many of our managers have worked their way through the business, and their achievements show that you can forge a rewarding and successful career at Mowi.
“As the spotlight is on young people during Scottish Apprenticeship Week, I would encourage them to consider aquaculture as a career. Throughout the year, Mowi will be supporting Salmon Scotland and DYW as they meet school pupils and parents at careers fairs across the Highlands to give an insight into aquaculture which continues to offer well paid work and career progression in some of the most remote and rural areas of Scotland.”
