MOWI celebrates big wins in esteemed food awards

MOWI ended the year with much to celebrate with core and new products winning three prestigious 2023 awards. MOWI celebrated wins in the Quality Food Awards, The Grocer’s Top Product Launches, and the Good Housekeeping Institute’s Taste Tests. This recognition by industry experts reinforces MOWI’s commitment to drive innovation and excitement in the fish category.

UK Quality Food Awards 2023

Now in its 44th year, the UK Quality Food Awards are the longest running awards in the food and drink industry in the UK, where judges recognise fine ingredients, great taste, beautiful packaging and amazing value for money.

In the ‘all year round’ categories at the 2023 awards, MOWI won in two: smoked fish and fish fillets. MOWI Scottish Smoked Salmon Slices achieved silver in the smoked fish category and MOWI Scottish Salmon Fillets achieved bronze in the fish fillets category.

The Grocer Top Product Launches 2023

The Grocer’s Top Products survey is the definitive overview for top performing products in the biggest food and drink categories.

Within this, The Grocer named MOWI Bistro Bakes as the Top Product Launch of 2023 in the meat & fish category. The Bistro Bakes range, launched in April, included Salmon & Cheese Melts, Salmon Pastries, Salmon & Spicy Tomato Bake, and Zesty Salmon Roasting Joint, and targeted shoppers who want restaurant-quality meals at home.

Good Housekeeping Institute Taste Tests 2023

MOWI’s Scottish Smoked Salmon Slices, which are easy to separate, have been taste approved once again by the Good Housekeeping Institute. This year the panel of tasters awarded them ‘best for thicker slices’.

The judges said: “These thick salmon slices have a traditional flavour, with rich smoke, a good level of salt and just a hint of sweetness. A great all-rounder for a variety of dishes, although we defy you not to eat it straight from the pack.”

Buoyed by such a successful year, MOWI is set to build on this in 2024 with a continued focus on inspiring consumers to eat more salmon with quality products.
