The Mowi Salmon Wagon hits the road again this month!
We are delighted to reveal the 10 fantastic events that the Mowi Salmon Wagon will be attending this year. Complete with a fully stocked fridge and an eager team ready to serve up delicious Scottish salmon dishes, the Mowi Salmon Wagon helps communities and charities raise money for worthwhile causes.
Speaking about the programme for 2024, Jayne MacKay, Community Engagement Officer at Mowi Scotland, said: “As ever, the team behind the Mowi Salmon Wagon had a difficult job deciding which events to attend in 2024. Thank you to all the wonderful charities and communities who submitted an application to have the Mowi Salmon Wagon attend their event. We can’t wait to hit the road again!”
The Mowi Salmon Wagon will attend:
- Rosyth Children’s Gala, supporting EATS Rosyth, 25th May
- Fort William FC Festival of Football (50 Year Anniversary), supporting Lochaber area, 15th June
- Carradale Harbour in Argyll and Bute, supporting East Kintyre Community Council, 13th July
- The West Ardnamurchan Regatta, raising money for future regattas, 26th July
- West Highland Week, supporting Craobh Marina, 27th July
- Clan Cameron International, supporting Clan Cameron Museum, 3rd August
- Small Isles Games, supporting The Isle of Muck Community,10th August
- The Glenfinnan Gathering, raising money for future gatherings,17th August
- Aquaculture Day, supporting a charity chosen by Lochaber High School, September (date TBC)
- Tulloch Homes Camanachd Cup Final, supporting a charity chosen by Mowi and the Camanachd Association, 21st September
Since its launch three years ago, the Mowi Salmon Wagon has raised £14,258, serving over 3,000 salmon dishes at 26 events, with all proceeds going to important local causes.
Mowi Scotland invites communities and local organisations that would like the fundraising Salmon Wagon to attend their event in 2025 to apply online from the end of October to the end of December 2024. Events which have been previously unsuccessful in their applications are welcome to apply again.
Mowi’s panel will meet in January, with successful applicants announced in February 2025.
