Mowi Scotland granted Royal Warrant
Mowi Scotland is honoured to be granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment for the supply of fresh salmon to His Majesty The King.
Mowi Scotland has held the Royal Warrant since 1990. When Queen Elizabeth II passed away in 2022, the 620 Royal Warrants she had granted became void and a two-year grace period was granted to allow all holders of the Royal Warrant to continue using the Royal Arms on their products, packaging and websites.
In December 2024, His Majesty The King granted the second set of Royal Warrants of Appointment of the new reign, confirming that Mowi would continue to hold the Royal Warrant for the supply of fresh salmon.
Speaking about the Royal Warrant, Ben Hadfield, COO, Farming Scotland, Ireland, The Faroes and Canada East, said: “It is an honour that Mowi Scotland is the only supplier of fresh salmon to His Majesty The King. The Royal Warrant, proudly shown through the Royal Crest on our boxes of salmon that are sold all over the world, is recognised and held in high regard globally and lends even greater provenance to the Mowi story.”
The Royal Warrant of Appointment was established in the 15th century by the Lord Chamberlain. It meant that approved merchants who had supplied specific goods and services to the Royal Household for at least five years had the right to use the Royal Arms in connection with their business. Holders of the Royal Warrant were also allowed to use the Royal Arms on their product and packaging and to display the designated crest on their premises.
