This privacy statement provides general information on how we process personal data of our shareholders, visitors to our website, recipients of our newsletter and inquiries made through our online forms or by using the contact information on our website. This privacy statement provides information about what personal data we may process and the purpose of such processing.

When processing your personal data, Mowi acts as a data controller, which means that we are responsible for the responsible processing of your personal data and ensure that you can invoke your rights under Chapter III of the General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR – Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

Personal data means any information about a natural person – hereinafter referred to as the data subject – for example, name, e-mail address, telephone number or evaluations that can be linked to a natural person.

How personal data is collected

Personal data can be freely provided by the individual when visiting our website or registering to receive newsletters, by contacting Mowi ASA through our online forms or by using the contact information on our website. Mowi may also collect information about our shareholders with the help of outside third parties, such as depository banks.

Legal basis and purpose of our processing of personal data

Your personal data is collected and processed solely for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy and Mowi will not further process your personal data in a manner incompatible with these purposes.

Mowi will also limit the processing of personal data to the time frame necessary to achieve the purpose of collecting your personal data and in accordance with the legal basis of each processing. Once the retention period has expired, the personal data will be deleted. Therefore, the right to access, the right to rectification and the right to data portability may no longer be enforceable after the expiration of the retention period.

Online forms

Our online forms are sent directly to Mowi’s independent third party. These online forms may be submitted anonymously or accompanied by your name, email address and phone number. If you choose to provide personal data, we will process your personal data based on your freely given consent in accordance with GDPR Article 6 No. 1 letter a). We sincerely ask that you limit the information provided to what is necessary for us to answer your query and take appropriate actions. Mowi will stop processing personal data related to inquiries through our online forms after Mowi has evaluated the inquiry and implemented appropriate measures where necessary, provided that compliance with legal obligations does not require otherwise.

Direct inquiries

Inquiries directed to the contact details on our website or in this privacy notice will result in Mowi processing your contact details and other information provided by you. The legal basis for such processing is your freely given consent in accordance with GDPR article 6 no. 1 letter a). We sincerely ask you to limit the information provided to what is necessary for us to answer your query and take appropriate actions. Mowi will stop processing personal data relating to queries sent directly to us after Mowi has evaluated the query and taken appropriate action where necessary, provided that compliance with legal obligations does not require otherwise.

Shareholders

Mowi may collect the name and address of shareholders holding more than 10 000 shares, as well as the number of shares held, to ensure proper follow-up of our investors and to share relevant information about the company. The processing includes including shareholders in a directory used by Mowi to maintain a healthy relationship with investors. Information related to shareholders holding less than 10 000 shares will only be included in an aggregate case for the purpose of identifying depository banks holding shares for shareholders below the set threshold. Thus, the information will be anonymized. The legal basis for processing personal data of our shareholders is the legitimate interests pursued by Mowi according to GDPR article 6 no. 1 letter f), see also section 4-10 of the Norwegian PLC Act. The processing of personal data relating to Mowi’s shareholders will not exceed 5 years and will otherwise be limited to what is necessary to fulfill the original purpose for which the personal data was collected.

In order to properly monitor Mowi’s shareholders who hold more than 10 000 shares, Mowi has engaged NASDAQ OMX Corporate Solutions International Limited (“Nasdaq”) to provide share register analysis services. As a result of Nasdaq being registered in the United Kingdom, this will involve the transfer of personal data to a third country outside the EU/EEA. However, such transfers are subject to standard contractual clauses and relevant supporting documents approved by the European Commission that ensure an adequate level of security and a clear allocation of responsibility. The European Commission has also adopted an adequacy decision for the United Kingdom, meaning that personal data transferred to the United Kingdom enjoys protection that is substantially equivalent to that guaranteed by EU law.

Disclosure of personal data and data processors

Mowi takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to your personal data and to avoid unwarranted disclosure, modification and/or unauthorized destruction of such data.

Mowi will not disclose personal data to third parties unless the third party has been engaged as a data processor to perform a particular process on behalf of Mowi that is covered by a data processor agreement, and adequate safeguards have been put in place – ensuring that appropriate technical and organizational measures have been implemented. Data subject rights

In case Mowi processes personal data about you, you have the following rights in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Place of processing and transfer to third countries outside the EU/EEA

Mowi processes personal data at our offices and at other locations where the parties involved in the processing are located. Mowi will limit the transfer of personal data to third countries outside the EU/EEA to what is necessary to provide a user-friendly and satisfactory website, to send newsletters to our subscribers, and to receive and respond to inquiries sent to us through the appropriate channels, i.e. the online form on our website and emails addressed to the contact details listed below.

Matomo Analytics

Matomo Analytics is an open source web analytics platform used by Mowi to measure, collect, analyze and report visitor data for the purpose of understanding and optimizing the website.
