Taste and health
Salmon is versatile and appeals to people of all ages with its special taste, appearance, texture and color.

Our salmon is a quality product with a taste and health profile few others can match. We know the main reason consumers choose our product again and again: TASTE. Nothing is more important than taste when it comes to food. In many countries, salmon is the first choice and favorite fish among consumers.

A true superfood

Health authorities around the world recommend putting at least one serving of oily fish on the menu per week because of its additional health benefits.
Along with plant-based foods such as vegetables, fruits, legumes, whole grains and nuts, fish is categorized by the EAT Lancet committee as an “important food” in a healthy diet.
Our salmon is an excellent source of high-quality protein, vitamins and minerals (including potassium, selenium and vitamin B12), but it’s omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA that get the most attention, and rightfully so!
Omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial for:

Omega-3 fatty acids support brain function and development in infants. They also potentially prevent psychiatric diseases, especially cognitive decline in the elderly5.
Omega-3 fatty acids help keep the heart healthy by lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of sudden death, heart attacks, strokes1,2,3 and heart disease3,4.
Omega-3 fatty acids can prevent inflammation and reduce the risk of arthritis5,6.

Nutritional values of Mowi salmon
EPA and DHA are found in cell membranes and help cells function properly. Marine Omega-3 prevent the development of cardiovascular disease.
Protein is a building block of muscles, among other things.
At least nine amino acids are essential for humans, and all nine are present in balanced amounts in our salmon.
Salmon is rich in fatty acids that are essential for our health and needed for cells to function properly.
Vitamin B12 helps form red blood cells and keeps the nervous system healthy. Vitamin B12 deficiency can cause anemia.
Iodine plays an essential role in our metabolism and deficiency can lead to impaired growth and mental decline. It is especially important for pregnant women to promote the development of the growing baby.
Selenium helps cognitive function and fertility in men and women. A lack of selenium can lead to a weakening of heart muscles and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium. Vitamin D deficiency can result in bone disorders in children and adults.
Vitamin E plays a role in our immune function and is an important antioxidant needed to protect cells.
