What it’s like working in Operations at Mowi?

“Don't be afraid of change” - Dominika Pranga - Warehouse Specialist

Dominika now works as our Warehouse Specialist at Mowi Poland, thanks to her father. Dominika sent her CV to our careers team after graduating with a degree in logistics on the advice of her father. She was eager to take on a new challenge, believing that change is necessary for growth and, most importantly, that good work organisation and responsibility are essential for success in her role.

"We always look for ways to reduce our carbon footprint by developing the flow of goods with more modern, sustainable transportation methods"

Mats Andreas works as a Senior Logistics Analyst at Mowi Terminal in Gardermoen. What he likes most about the job is a varied workday with challenges that often require a new approach to solve.
– For example, we always look for ways to reduce our carbon footprint by developing the flow of goods with more modern, sustainable transportation methods .

Tell us a bit about yourself and your background

I have a background in both warehouse and airport operations, and eventually chose a career in the military, primarily in transportation and logistics. I also have leadership education from the Officer School and the War College, as well as education in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Molde University College.

How did you get a job at Mowi?

After 12 great years in the military, I wanted new challenges and happened to come across a job advertisement for a Team Leader in logistics at Mowi that seemed very interesting. After a few years as a Team Leader at Mowi Terminal in Gardermoen, I now work as a Senior Logistics Analyst and am part of a newly established planning group in Mowi’s Supply Chain.

Describe a typical workday

Every day at work is different. We often have daily meetings with stakeholders within our Supply Chain to ensure that daily operations run as smoothly as possible. Over the past year, I have spent a lot of time on transport planning, project work, and procurement processes with transport service providers.

What do you particularly like about the job?

New challenges constantly arise that often require a new approach to solving them. For example, we always look for ways to reduce our carbon footprint by developing the flow of goods with more modern, sustainable transportation methods. Not least, Mowi is a large company with many skilled employees, making it very motivating to collaborate with.

Do you have any good tips for others who want to work in aquaculture?

I can safely recommend others without a background in the seafood industry to apply for positions in the field, as there are incredibly many support functions around the actual production. Otherwise, there has been a surge of new exciting studies around aquaculture that should be interesting for most people.
