Home Revitalise

Revitalise is a Norwegian project funded by FHF (Project number 901834. Ernæringsbehov for vitaminer og mineraler for laksens helse (REVITALISE) (fhf.no)), led by the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research in collaboration with NOFIMA, NMBU, Skretting AI and Mowi, that started in 2023 and will run until 2026.

Using several feeding trials, the researchers will specifically try to find the optimal levels of vitamin E, folate and vitamin A in the various phases of the salmon’s lifecycle. The marine researchers will also look at the interaction between water quality and the salmon smolt’s need for zinc or selenium in RAS facilities.

The aim of the project is to find the optimal levels of selected micronutrients for farmed salmon in the different phases of life, both under normal and challenging conditions. This will improve the salmon’s ability to withstand stress and the fish’s resistance to diseases.
